Part one: Uneducated people are dumb

I was on a blog recently where someone posted about whether Beyonce got a high school education or not. Then my mind flipped back to a time when my dad mentioned how he wasn't educated like my mum and me.

Why do people assume that an education means you're smart?

Why do we try and define what smart is?

The smart, gifted geniuses are always the ones who are excellent at mind games like Chess, solving mathematical problems that have stumped researchers for years, joining classes for students beyond their age group, and remembering countless facts for no reason whatsoever but because they can.

Then you hear about 'easy' degrees and subjects. Apparently Art, Music and Drama, and countless other hands on, modern and/or creative subjects out there are too 'easy'. Maths, Science and Psychology get 'Ooohs' and 'Aaahs' and 'Wow, you're smart!'

Why?

That's interesting.... I never thought about that. Wow. Definitely food for thought.
